  • Understanding the core of Yoga and what makes it more than a workout.

Yoga is a practice that is originated in ancient India and has been passed down through generations.

The word “yoga” comes from the Sanskrit word “yuj” which means to unite or join.  It is based on the belief that we are all connected and everything in the universe is interconnected and it is the practice that aims to unite our body, mind and prana through various physical postures, breathing exercises such as pranayama and along with other types of meditation.

One of the core principles of Yoga is the concept of unity, so that we can cultivate an awareness of ourselves with the universe and develop a greater sense of compassion and empathy towards everyone.

Another key principle is self-discipline. Which helps to control our thoughts, actions, emotions and help us teach to focus our mind and bring calmness.

 The healing power of Pranayama

Rapid, uncontrolled, irregular breathing is a sign of illness. Slow, deep and regular controlled breathing is a sign of good health. Breath is the link between our body and mind and it is the agent of physical, physiological and mental unification,

When the breath is slowed down, metabolic processes are also slowed, that is the moment for renovation, healing and rebuilding. This is where pranayama helps to control your prana which involves breathing exercises and patterns.

In yoga, pranayama is used with other practises like physical postures(asanas) and mediation.

So if your breath is calm, mind is calm then your life is long.

Yoga practice strengths self-confidence.

Life is full of challenges that are only to make us stronger and better. The challenges should be understood as opportunities for change and faced with confidence. Yoga practitioners learn that they have the inner power to overcome each and every challenge that transcends our everyday worries and concerns and taps into pure consciousness.

Taking responsibilities for personal health.

A person should understand that ultimately it is him\her who is responsible for his\her own health and well being and must take the initiative to develop health. Yoga fixes responsibilities for our health upon our own shoulders and gives us chance to actively participate in and out health improvement.
